GHF envisions a future in which health outcomes for Chicagoans are no longer determined by race or zip code

 From inception through December 2024,
Grant Healthcare Foundation has awarded grants totaling more than $36 million.

Grant Healthcare Foundation continues the long tradition of Grant Hospital of Chicago, founded in 1883 in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago as “a sanctuary in case of sickness or accident for all persons, without distinction of belief or religious conviction.”

Our mission is to support services of organizations dedicated to improving the health of people within Chicago.

To achieve that mission, the Foundation awards grants in support of the following areas:

  • Mental health care and services for youth in the Chicago Public School system.

  • Comprehensive reproductive and maternal health care services

  • Improved access to behavioral/reproductive health care for individuals where there are barriers to care through innovation and strategic collaboration.
